Coffee House

Last night on May 7th Norwell Highschool hosted their spring coffee house. Coffee house is hosted by the Tri Am group which is currently run by a couple of senior students. At the coffee house students at Norwell Highschool get together and perform songs, comedy skits, and band performances. You can buy tickets at lunch or at the door, and it is very much worth the low
price of $10 dollars. Coffee house lives up to the name as besides the amazing performances put on by students there is also some delicious coffee and snacks brought by students. There were homemade hazelnut cake pops, cupcakes, grapes, a charcuterie board, and an assortment of cookies and brownies. All of which were extremely good, almost as good as some of the performances. Personally, some of my favorite performance was Leo Bretch, a freshman who sang and played guitar to I’m a Believer by Smash Mouth. Leo’s performance was one of the earlier ones of the night and really got things going, setting a great example for all the acts to follow. A fellow student who attended coffee house Danny Schmitt who had attended earlier coffee houses said this one was his favorite and he plans to attend again next time. Besides Leo’s performance there were many others that were very good. There was a comedy act right before intermission that had the whole theater laughing, and a few great band performances to end off the night. All around the coffee house was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone whether you are looking to perform and showcase your talents, or just to see others perform.
