The Norwell Clippers beat Old Rochester in a very close match 2-1 at home, in spite of playing without sophomore Connor Hickey. The Clippers played great and for the most part shut down Old Rochester’s offense. Additionally, the Clippers have been incredible all season not losing a single game and being the one seed going into playoffs. Senior Ben Garland and junior Brady Kelly scored the two great goals for Norwell in the game against Old Rochester. Brady’s being his first goal in his whole high school career. Brady’s goal went top left from nearly 30 yards out, and it was the goal to send the game to extra time. Ben Garland scored in extra time to secure the game for the Clippers sending them to the Final Four against Dover-Sherborn, who the Clippers beat at home earlier this season in a close match that ended 2-3. The game against Dover-Sherborn will hopefully be a redemption game for the Clippers as they lost to them in the Division Three State Championship last year. It will also be a very tough game for the Clippers as Dover-Sherborn have only lost to Natick, Norwell, and Medford. However, if the Clippers win that game, they will go on to play either Scituate or Greater New Bedford Reg Voc/Tech for the Division Three Championship, and if the Clippers manage to take home the championship it will be the third win for the Norwell boys team including their Division Three Championship wins in 2021 and 2023.
