What’s trending for fashion this Fall?
This fall, the runway is full of leather, leather and more leather. Loafers and bomber jackets are back for the second fall season in a row. Pastel, satin and silk, earth-toned accessories, and the classic white tank top with jeans are here to stay. With so many contrasting ideas on the runway, it’s difficult to have a grasp on what is in and what is out.
Let’s look into a more casual side of fashion: items most of us will actually wear this fall/winter season. Uggs are back and while I will not bore you with a detailed timeline of the popularity of Ugg boots, they truly had their height of popularity in the early 2000s. Seen on every celebrity during that time, they left the fashion scene during the 2010s. They had a massive comeback in menswear around 2017 and are fully back now in the 2020s. Maybe I did just give you a detailed timeline of the popularity of Ugg’s but the point is Ugg boots, especially Mini Uggs, are extremely popular here at the high school.
Sweaters are a fall essential and high fashion this season shows both neutral and bright sweaters are in trend. Striped tops have been everywhere so far this autumn. Hoodies & crewnecks never go out of style and as always, college sweatshirts are all over the place. Jean trends are diverse at the moment; loose fitting, bootcut, high rise and wide leg seen lately. Flare leggings are back as most y2k trends are coming back. Boston Birkenstocks are everywhere this fall and I am looking forward to seeing how long this trend lasts as the Arizona Birkenstock has been a classic for so long.
After claw clips w
ere seen on most everyone for about a year, it’s exciting to see a different hair style coming into play. Tight, slicked back ponytails and buns are taking over as an easy and put together look.
I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of this season's style trends. No matter what you choose to wear, stay cozy and enjoy the fall.
