Valentines day recipes

Heart Cookies

Preparation time - 20 minutes


- 3 cups - all purpose flour

- 1 tsp - baking powder

- ½ tsp - salt

- 1 cup (2 sticks) - softened butter

- 1 cup - sugar

- 1 egg

- 1 tbsp - milk

- 1 tsp - pure vanilla extract

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. In a large bowl mix together all of the dry ingredients (all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, salt, sugar). In another bowl mix together the rest of the ingredients (butter, egg, milk, pure vanilla extract). Mix the dry ingredients gradually with the other ingredients until fully combined

3. Refrigerate for 1 hour

4. Lightly flour work surface with flour, roll out the dough until it is about ½ inch thick, cut dough into heart shapes then place on a baking sheet

5. To ensure the shapes will hold you may want to freeze the dough for about 10 minutes before baking

6. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes

Ingredients for frosting

- 8 oz (1 block) - cream cheese

- ½ cup (1 stick) softened butter

- 4 cups - powdered sugar

- 1 tsp - pure vanilla extract

- ¼ tsp - salt

Directions

1. In a large bowl mix together cream cheese and butter until smooth, add powdered sugar, pure vanilla extract and salt until fully combined

2. For fun patterns you can divide the frosting into different bowls and mix with food coloring!

3. Evenly spread frosting on cookies once cooled and enjoy!

Candy Bark

Preparation time - 10 minutes

Ingredients

- 2 cups - Milk chocolate almond bark

- 2 cups - White chocolate almond bark

- Sprinkles

Directions

1. Melt milk chocolate in microwave safe bowl (30 second intervals) 2. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper then evenly spread melted milk chocolate over the sheet

3. Place baking sheet in refrigerator for about 10 minutes to set 4. Melt white chocolate in microwave safe bowl (30 second intervals) 5. Cover set milk chocolate with melted white chocolate 6. Add sprinkles!

7. Place baking sheet in refrigerator for about 10 minutes to set 8. Once set, break into pieces and enjoy!
