The Sailing Season Has Arrived!

The 2023 sailing season has finally arrived! After a long awaited winter, the sailing team is very excited to finally be getting back onto the water. Last week was the first week of spring sports and the sailing team started as well. Meeting at NDA (Notre Dame Academy) on Monday the 20th, the Norwell and NDA sailors were reacquainted with each other working together to get everything straight. All of the sails and gear was pulled out of the NDA basement and organized. On Wednesday the 23rd, the team met at Hull Yacht Club to unload all six of the 420’s that they sail and step the masts. Boy was it a sight for sore eyes! Although it was a little chilly, it marked the first real day of the sailing season! The team was very excited to see their boats down at the waterfront and what a great team bonding experience. Stepping boats is not an easy job, so having the whole team work together to get everything together was a great way to start the season off. Coach Julie Gordon had very graciously offered to coach the team for another season this year and the team is so grateful to her because they know that without her there would be no sailing team. The team and Coach Julie are also very grateful for the club advisor/assistant coach, Mr. Steve Marsh. With many new faces on the team this year, they are very excited to have a great, successful season out on the water!
