Super Bowl Recap
This Sunday, the Chiefs and Eagles faced off for the highly anticipated Super Bowl. The event took place in New Orleans at Caesars Superdome. The Kansas City Chiefs were the AFC Champions, and the Philadelphia Eagles were the NFC champions. The two teams both played hard, but the Eagles pulled off a stunning victory 40-22. A highlight was rookie DeJean (on the Eagles) getting an early pick 6. Jalen Hurts was named the Super Bowl MVP due to his perfect throws, two thrown touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown. The Chiefs were off, with an excessive amount of turnovers, sacks, and interceptions. Travis Kelce didn’t catch a single pass until late in the third quarter. The Chiefs' “three-peat” dreams were quickly stopped by a strong Eagles defense and explosive plays. In other news, rapper Kendrick Lamar performed at the halftime show, performing hits such as “Not Like Us” and “All the Stars”. The concept of Lamar’s performance was ‘the American game’, with Samuel L. Jackson playing Uncle Sam. Star cameos were SZA performing and Serena Williams dancing. One Norwell student said "SZA was incredible". Overall, the Super Bowl was a fun time for viewers, whether they were there for the game, commercials, or the halftime show.
