Spring Track

The Norwell boys’ and girls’ spring track teams have been doing great this season!  This weekend, they are competing in divisionals.  On Friday, May 26, they competed in the first day of the MIAA Division 5 State Championships at Bridgewater State College.  The competing Norwell athletes were from each grade. The meet went great, with many wins for Norwell!  In the pentathlon, Lily MacDonald and Ryan Luccarelli both placed first, and Harry Campbell placed 4th.  Jackson Adams got 8th in the 400 meter hurdles.  In the 800 meters, Ariana Veneto got 6th and Jack Twombly got 2nd.  In the discus, Diana Won got first place as well as her personal record.  Thomas Corbett got 2nd in the 2 mile race.  In the Triple Jump, Noah Mulligan and Lily MacDonald both won first.  Noah Mulligan also got 3rd in the 200 meter race.  Norwell boys won this meet as well!  Congratulations to all of our Norwell athletes!  Day 2 of the Division 5 State Championships will be on Sunday, May 26, at Bridgewater State College.  The athletes that will be attending this meet that did not attend the meet on Friday are Maddie Smith, Marco Arruda , Chris McGlinchey , Josh Kue, Griffin Murphy , Sophie Lowing,  Adam Smith, and Sam Pesko.  Good luck to all athletes competing on Sunday, and next week in States!
