Spirit Week Recap 2024
Spirit week is always one of the most fun and exciting times of the school year. The pep rally, dress up days, the football game, decorated hallways! So much happens in this one short week of the year. So let’s recap the week.
Monday: Color Wars!
The week started off with color wars, as tradition. As always, freshmen were green, sophomores red, juniors white, and seniors black. Everyone dressed up in their class colors, with the seniors in their senior shirts, and everyone went all out decorating their hallways.
Tuesday: Suburban Parents
Suburban parents was a big hit. Walking around the school, you could see students looking like they were ready to hit the grill, go to a kids sports game, go play some golf, or even hit the tennis courts. Overall, it was pretty funny to see how students outfits and how they interpreted this day.
Wednesday: 80s!
80s day was totally tubular! Everyone went all out, and it was so fun to see everyone in their vibrant colors. The outfits were amazing with everything from more vibrant workout clothes to all denim outfits to letterman jackets. But the best part, no duh, was the speakers in the halls and at lunch. Although they were present the whole week, something about the 80s songs just set the tone of the day.
Thursday: Wall Day
This year's wall day theme was biomes, with freshmen as the arctic, sophomores with outer space, juniors with jungle, and seniors with under the sea. During the day you could see anything from aliens to sharks to explorers. But what is wall day without talking about the walls. The freshmen’s wall was impressive for their first year, beating the sophomores in the wall competition. That left juniors in second place and seniors in first, which helped them eventually take home the Clipper Cup.
Friday: Blue and Gold!
Friday is always the most fun, as it is tradition to wear school colors and attend the Homecoming Pep Rally at the end of the day. Everyone showed great school spirit wearing blue and gold, with some students even wearing school sports uniforms. However, the best part of Friday was the Clipper Cup Rally. This year we got to see the grades go head to head in events like hungry hungry hippos, Mario Kart, dodgeball, and more. Hungry hungry hippos started off the events with a bang, as the junior and senior teams went head to head, resulting in a broken laundry basket. However, Mario Kart had to be the funniest part of the rally, as people were falling over and sabotaging each other with stuffed animals. But the best part of Mario Kart had to be watching the junior team drive backwards, unable to control the car the entire time. Students enjoyed one last laugh at the rally before heading off into the weekend with the homecoming football game and dance.
