Ski NORWELL!

The Norwell boys’ and girls’ Ski Teams have both shown great performances so far this season!  They raced in their first meet on Saturday, January 22 at Ragged Mountain Resort.  Boys’ varsity had three skiers in the top twenty: Liam Shepherd in 1st, Ben Bartley in 8th, and Corbin Gravina in 13th.  Boys JV had two skiers in the top twenty: Trevor White in 4th and Wyatt Franssen in 10th, who are both freshmen!  Girls’ varsity had four racers in the top twenty: Kelsey Warner in 11th, Lily Chase in 12th, Kate Hansen in 16th, and Adele Gravina in 18th.  There were also eight other Norwell skiers who placed in the top fifty: Claire Franssen in 35th, Heidi Bailey in 42nd, Madison Fairweather in 50th, Joshua Kue in 31st, Seamus McCabe in 36th, Will Lemoine in 41st, Sean Lydon in 45th, and Ky Princi in 50th.  On Wednesday, January 24th, Norwell skiers competed in the Ski East Varsity GS race at Blue Hills.  There were four girls in the top twenty: Lily Chase in 13th, Kelsey Warner in 15th, Emma Cakounes in 16th, and Kate Hansen in 19th.  There were two boys in the top twenty: Malcom Bartley in 9th and Ben Bartley in 13th; talk about brotherly competition!  There were seven other racers from Norwell in the top fifty: Adele Gravina in 22nd, Claire Franssen in 27th, Garret Poulin in 34th, Trevor White in 39th, Seamus McCabe in 41st, Molly Bloomfield in 44th, and Joshua Kue in 48th.  On Saturday, January 27, Norwell Ski Team will be competing in the Peter Wall Memorial GS Race at Ragged Mountain Resort.  The Norwell Girls’ team will be defending their team title as reigning champions, and Liam Shepherd will be defending his individual title.  Norwell Ski Team has had many high-placing skiers this year so far, and they look like they’re on their way to another championship!
