Saturnalia

As the Holidays are approaching quickly, one holiday celebrated by many people is Saturnalia. Saturnalia is an ancient Roman festival in honor of the god Saturn. This holiday takes place on December 17th. Festivities for this holiday go through December 23rd. This holiday is celebrated by eating, drinking, and gambling with friends and family. There is also usually a gift exchange that takes place called the White Elephant Gift Exchange. Some of the traditions of Saturnalia are very similar to the traditions of the holiday of Christmas. As they hang wreaths, light candles and give gifts to loved ones. During Saturnalia, all schools and work close for the day. The main feat for Saturnalia is held on the 25th of December.
