Redhot and Blue Yale’s Musical Jass Group

On March 22nd, 2024, Yale’s Redhot and Blue visited the halls of Norwell High School to perform for students and supply a workshop for the NHS chorus class. Rose Hansen, a recent NHS graduate, was generous enough to organize the visit as now alumni coordinator for the organization. Redhot has established an astonishing first all-gender a cappella group with the supporting intention to demonstrate how jazz both inspires and reflects the world surrounding it. Members claim to be quirky, diverse, and motivated to create and share sounds that move and inspire others. Redhot has opportunities to travel both within the Northeast and far beyond, stretching across the nation to the western coast. Forty years later since first coming together, Redhot and Blue still strive to expand the multitude of musical possibilities while still considering those who inspired the original conception of Redhot and Blue in 1917.
