Prom 2024

Prom this year was a resounding success. It was held at a different location this year, Indian Pond in Kingston. Students mostly welcomed this change, as the bus ride was drastically cut to only 20 minutes after the previous hour long drive to Boston. The new venue was stunning, overlooking a golf course and providing a gorgeous view of the water. According to junior Emma Corbett, the venue “was really pretty and great for taking photos”. The room itself had easy access to the balcony, which was much appreciated for when it got hot dancing. The DJ played many crowd favorites and definitely got everyone on the dance floor. The food itself was described as “decent” and served its purpose as prom food. Some like junior Sofia Forcier would describe the food as “very good”. Students who also attended the prom last year noted a decrease in food quality but an increase in venue.

Previous to the prom itself was the walkthrough, which was optional, and all attendees walked across the gym with their date or friend. The audience included family, friends, and people just curious to see what everyone was wearing. Luckily no one tripped and fell, and everyone was quickly escorted onto the buses and to prom.

The dance lasted a few hours and was a blast. The songs were good and everyone really got down, even in the long dresses and suits. When it got too hot, attendees could easily go outside in one of the many large doors leading to a beautiful cool balcony (also featuring a gazebo).

Students have expressed lots of excitement for prom next year. The 2025 prom will be taking place at Plymouth Pawtuxet (formally known as Plymouth Plantation) and students can’t wait to see how it goes.
