Peer-Ed Travels to Cole and Vinal
Norwell High School's Peer Education Program took some field trips in the past three months to the elementary schools to give lessons to the fourth and fifth graders. The first lesson that was taught was on bullying. The peer educators started with a calm classroom technique then dove right into the lesson. They asked the students for examples when they witnessed bullying and what they did about it. After teaching what bullying is and what you can do about it when you see it, the students acted out skits about bullying and what they learned they can do to help the person getting bullied. For the second lesson, the peer educators taught a lesson on gratitude and how you can show gratitude to their peers. The students filled out a worksheet about when they received gratitude and when they showed gratitude then shared with the class. The peer educators had an absolute blast teaching the fourth and fifth graders and they were so polite while being taught. The peer educators cannot wait to go back to the elementary schools in January for a lesson about alcohol and drugs!
