Monday April 5th, the Norwell JV football team defeated a tough, prepared, and skilled East Bridgewater team. The final score was Norwell 28 EB 24. Norwell was down at half by a touchdown. The Clippers got two touchdowns from Ryan Fitzgerald. Ryan’s 2nd touchdown gave the Clippers the lead late in the game. Both Ryan’s touchdowns were rushing. Ethan Downy-Lamprey and Jackson Adams both had a reception touchdown. The offensive line was strong and so was the coaching. For the Clippers defense Jacob Stull had an interception. The Clippers stopped the last chance drive by EB to win the game. Ben Belise led the Clippers with tackles. The Clippers had a Covid positive so their season was put on hold but it didn’t show in their matchup against East Bridgewater. Clippers still have a strong QB core. Norwell JV moves to 2-0 with a matchup against a very skillful Middleboro at 4pm on Monday. The Clippers seek to move to 3-0. The Clippers are showing that even in a Covid year football is still football. The Clippers work harder than anyone in practice and it is showing. They are a very skillful set of kids and they will have lots of memories together in the years to come.
