New Teacher Here at Norwell High School!

Welcome Mr. Levine! The newest member of Norwell High School faculty has taken on the previously vacant role of an English teacher. Mr. Levine has in the past taught at Boston and Dedham schools and has immensely loved the aspect of working through multiple schools, finding that everywhere he has taught the students are always awesome. Mr. Levine specifically chose to teach at Norwell High School to accommodate for a shorter commute to and from his home town in Weymouth. Undoubtedly, Mr. Levine also was captivated by the great school systems and immediately knew he wanted to be a part of the community here in Norwell. One month into his experience at Norwell High School, Mr. Levine has enjoyed getting to know his newest students and learning about the unique traditions of the community. Since selecting the subject of English, Mr. Levine has found that the English language “allows us to consider the human experience in ways that are relevant to our own lives,” through a clear transfer of practiced skills. Apart from teaching, Mr. Levine has numerous outside hobbies and interests.

What are your personal hobbies and interests that you enjoy doing in your free time? “In my free time, for one, I love collecting records and listening to music. I would love to learn to play an instrument some day, but I'm too busy grading papers.”

“I also love sports. I do more watching these days than playing, though. My favorite teams are the Patriots, Celtics, and the University of Kentucky basketball team. College basketball is my favorite sport to watch, so I am very excited for the season to start. Go Cats!” “Additionally, I like anything that entails the outdoors. I love camping, going for hikes, going to the beach, etc.”

What was it that inspired you to be a teacher?

“I've always enjoyed working with kids because they are far more entertaining and interesting than adults. I also did not have the best relationship with school as a student, so I wanted to become a teacher for students who feel similarly to the way I did.”

Additional information:

Mr. Levine lives happily in Weymouth with his “fiancé and dog Brene who is undeniably cuter than every other dog out there.”

Norwell High School sends their best regards to Mr. Levine in hope for an exciting next journey here at our school. Thank you, Mr. Levine.
