New Sport at Norwell High?

          Norwell High School may very well be introducing a new sport in the upcoming year of 2024-2025.  Many soon to be freshmen and current high schoolers have expressed interest in establishing such a sport. By now you may be eager to know the brand new sport previously mentioned. Norwell high school will soon have a dance team! The team will likely perform at basketball games. They will perform halftime dances and cheer on the players in the times between. The dance team will get great songs and mixes with current taste and style added in. The team will also be formed with customized and particularly designed costumes to fit the dance/dances. By building a dance team, Norwell will establish more school spirit many currently aren’t able to experience. As a dancer, I do love my studio and am so grateful to be a part of it. That being said, sometimes it feels as if I am not doing a sport at all because it isn’t directly connected to Norwell Athletics. Many other school sports get much more recognition from fellow students. So, with this new dance team I and others with the same or a similar situation will feel more attached to Norwell High School. Team spirit will then flourish among students and dancers from making such an improvement. And the best part is you don’t have to be part of any dance studio, the dance team is open and welcoming to all. But, similar to most other sports, it will still include tryouts. If the dance team turns out to be successful and popular, there may be even more to add to it. So don’t be afraid to try out, you never know what will happen. The Norwell High School dance team will change Norwell High for the better, it will inspire students and create new opportunities. Look for Norwell High School’s dance team next year!
