The Norwell Lacrosse team is off to a great start. At 5-0 the Clippers have some serious talent. Last weekend in the rain on home soil the Clippers came into the game versus the Xaverian Hawks of Westwood. Headed to overtime, Senior Oliver Rice beat the goalie for the upset. The past years Norwell Lacrosse has been quite the force in producing College Commits. Last year defensemen Will Morse committed to the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Two Years ago Norwell had 2 top 100 commits. Goalie Ryan Daly who is currently starting for the University of Vermont and John Mullen who is arguably the best faceoff taker in the entire Country at Syracuse University in New York. In 2022 and 2023 Norwell brought home the state championship trophy with wins over Medfield and Falmouth who the Clippers are playing tomorrow Friday, April 11th at 4:30 down at the CCC. This year the Clippers are led by head coach Josh Stolp. Up top the senior duo of Ollie Rice and Joey McCarthy lead the way. Juniors Jake McGuirk, Teddy Glynn and Jack Williams have been a key part of this team’s success. Last year's team had a strong showing in the first rounds of the playoffs until they faced Sandwich and all the good turned to bad as they fell in the final four. Norwell is sending two athletes off to college, Oliver Rice to Skidmore College in New York and Tommy Sculley to Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. Next Year there could be multiple faces playing college lacrosse. Jake McGuirk, Teddy Glynn and Jack Willams all might have the chance to play. Norwell Lacrosse has a bright future to become a powerhouse.
