This may be one of the worst seasons for hockey players as they have many accommodations they have to meet and follow while playing the sport. During Covid-19 there have been many changes to the game of hockey such as wearing a mask, no locker rooms, fewer games, limited drills allowed for practices, benches exc. During all practices and games everyone is required to wear a mask, this can make it hard for the players to grasp for air and breathe while playing yet a necessary percussion. Teams are also not allowed to use locker rooms before games and practices which is a struggle for getting dressed and undressed before and after games and besides health, it takes out a lot of the fun for players. The teams also have a much shorter season with much fewer games and practices which gives the team much less time to work together, especially if a team gets quarantined. There are also very limited drills allowed at practice as for you are not allowed to get in lines, groups of 5-10 people that are not allowed to come in contact with the other groups and many other restrictions. And for the benches, you must be 6 feet from anyone on the bench and if you need to take your mask down to get a sip of water, you have to be 12 feet from anyone. As you can imagine all of these regulations are very inconvenient for the players and coaches but they will do anything to be able to play the sport they love!
