NHS Golf Team

Over the past few years Norwell High School Golf has blossomed into a team that has become a competitive team to make and is often overlooked. When people think of golf they often think of old people who use golf as an exercise excuse or kids that got cut from other sports who want to stay busy but that is often not the case. And most teams have practice right after school everyday at school or games where they can take a bus. Living in a town without a golf course is expected to have some challenges for a golf team. Varsity has a home course of Scituate Country Club but junior varsity isn’t so lucky. For JV we have to play at the Harmon Short Course, which is a practice course in the parking lot of another course. Sure a course is better than none, but we need a home. Hearing plans for Scituate to move to Hatherly leaves Widow's Walk open. Widow's Walk is a very challenging course in Scituate, with that opening up that could give Norwell golf their own course, and they have a driving range for use. Frankly, it could be any course I just want to play on a course that isn’t in the middle of a parking lot.
