Fun Ways to Spend Your Fall Free Time!
After a long summer of sunshine and hot days, fall is finally in full swing in Norwell! With the fall season comes lots of new fun activities to do with your friends and family, and I’ve put together a list of great ones on the South Shore. First up, C. N. Smith Farm in East Bridgewater. Open all days of the week except Monday, C. N. Smith Farms has a beautiful apple orchard, pumpkin patch, and apple cider doughnuts to die for. It’s also a perfect place to take some autumn-aesthetic pictures for your Instagram. Next up, Sautchuk’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch is open on the weekends in Plympton and it boasts an array of fun activities including but not limited to, hayrides, a zipline, a log playground, and of course, the two corn mazes. Sautchuk’s is targeted more towards children than it is for teens and adults, but anyone can enjoy their pumpkin patch. An extremely local option for a fun fall day is a trip to Norris Reservation. Located right in the heart of Norwell, Norris Reservation is the perfect place to go for a hike and enjoy the fall foliage. The trails are gorgeous and the river is a staple of the town, but remember to bundle up, as the air is crisp this time of year! Another local option is to come to the Norwell football games and support the town. You can look up the schedule for home games online and show some school spirit for NHS! Finally, sometimes you don’t have to leave the house to enjoy the season. Try staying home and making your favorite fall dish. After that, you can curl up with some blankets and watch a fall TV show or movie! My personal favorite fall show is Gilmore Girls, and my favorite fall dish is butternut squash mac and cheese! I know that this is a busy time of year, what with school starting and fall sports, but I hope that everyone reading this can find some time to appreciate the enchanting autumn that we’re lucky enough to get on the South Shore.
