February Football
The floating sports season is approaching and all the football players of Norwell High School can’t bear another minute. Most of us players haven’t been in a real game or practice since fall 2019. On February 22nd as we show up to tryouts the cobwebs will start to clear and the game we love so much we shed sweat and tears on will come back to us. How could we forget the smell of freshly cut grass and the soil under our nails as we lifted our legs and followed through with sprints. We love the turf pellets flying everywhere and sticking to us. This year the chilling wind blowing across the field and giving that little shiver in your bones will not ice our enthusiasm. Taking this all in will be the best thing to happen to me in about a year and a half. Just to hold that football under my arm will fill me with much needed joy for the sport I love will be played. This football year is definitely going to be a different ball game, but it will still be fun and I’m happy to hear it’s still going on throughout the whole pandemic. In football the three main goals are to do are train, practice and perform. Every player needs to practice with the team and coaches and go home to workout and stretch which benefits the body and performance for the following practices and games. This routine helps me get through the football season feeling energetic and strong mentally and physically.
