Closure of Winter Athletics
Alpine Ski Team:
Coached by Mr. Joel Shepherd and Asst. Coach Ms. Lisa Rodgers, the Norwell boys ski team finished in sixth in the league and girls in fifth with four overall MIAA state qualifiers. Emma Cackounes, Lily Chase, Blake Linder, Mac Bartley represented Nrwell at the MIAA State Race at Berkshire East on February 25th with outstanding performances all around.
Indoor Track:
Coached by Mr. Chuck Martin and Asst. Coach Mr. Chris O’Neil, both Norwell’s boys and girls had an incredible season at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center with PR’s all around. A multitude of Norwell athletes participated in the MSTCA Division 5 State Championship with top times for Hannah Morse, Ariana Veneto, Audrey Birtwell, Noah Mulligan, Griffin Murphy, Allie Ning, Abby Shaw, Meredith Reed, Meredith Cassidy, Sam Pesko, Brody M., Griffin M., and Noah Mulligan. Additionally, Norwell sends the best of luck to the national qualifying team for the SMR with Sam P, Griffin M, Noah M, and Josh E.
Boys Ice Hockey:
Coached by Mr. James Casagrande, Norwell varsity boys hockey team brought home a well fought South Shore League win. After fighting for a return of the State Championship title, Norwell lost in the second round of the MIAA D4 tournament against Winthrop. A huge congratulations to Coach Casagrande for his 300th career award!
Girls Ice Hockey:
The Norwell, Scituate, and Abington co-op team won the league championship. After being seeded #17, the girls team had an outstanding game against Leominster in the MIAA D2 tournament, accompanied by a very unfortunate loss with a score of 0-3.
Swim Team:
Coached by both Ms. Jenn Schad and Ms. Julie Fox, the NSST team had impressive performances all around at the South Shore League Swim and Dive Championship and MIAA Sectionals. Maddie Reif, Paige Stewart and Murron McGillicuddy all qualified for MIAA states. Maddie Reif set an all time Norwell High School record in the 11 dive with a score of 571 and finished off the season as the 2025 MIAA D2 State Diving Champion with a score of 455.10!
Girls Basketball:
Coached by Mr. Matt Marani, the Norwell girls basketball team made school history in the 2024-2025 season as they reached the MIAA D3 State Championship. After an impressive win against Foxboro the girls team advanced to play St. Mary’s. Although the season came to an unfortunate end with a tough loss, Norwell is beyond proud of its players, parents and coaches that brought the team so far this season.
Boys Basketball:
Coached by Mr. John Willis, the Norwell boys basketball team carried out an undefeated season that led them to win the MIAA D3 Boys Basketball State Championship against Old Rochester. Norwell is beyond proud of its players, parents and coaches and looks forward to seeing what great things their seniors will achieve in the years to come.
Dance Team:
Coached by Ms. Victoria Pagnini, Norwell, was able to fund its first ever dance team. With many girls from the cheer team and more, the team quickly became built upon friendship. A highlight for the dance team was accompanying the boys basketball team all the way to the state championships with an impressive win. The dance team also participated in the March Madness prep rally.
