Boys Varsity Soccer--An Undefeated Season

After a long and victorious season from the Norwell Boys Soccer Team, the biggest game of the year approaches. The state finals against Belchertown, a very dangerous opponent. To get to this point was not easy though, it was a season of games down to the wire, some not so much. After the regular season was finished, the team finished with zero losses, a couple of ties and a lot of wins. They are the only team in the state to be undefeated. Once all games had been played, and the seeds were set, Norwell’s first matchup was Austin Prep in the first round. After a long, hard fought game from both teams, Norwell emerged victorious. After that is was on to Tantasqua. After another great game, Norwell got their second victory. And finally the last game at our home turf, the boys took on Newburyport, another formidable foe, but just like previous games , Norwell brought home the win to punch their ticket to the MIAA Final Four Semifinals. With their goal set on State Finals, they head to Leominster to take on Medway. With this the last stop before the MIAA State Finals, everyone was ready to play the best they ever had their entire lives. After a long cold bus ride down to Leominster, the game was ready to start off. After an amazing performance, the boys were able to secure their spot in State Finals, after a 2-0 win over a great Medway team. After the stellar season, they are where they have wanted to be since day one, the MIAA Division Three State Championship. This is not the time to ease up though. As the week goes on, the boys continue to train and better themselves no matter what game they have coming up. All of the work is necessary with such a daunting opponent coming, Belchertown. This team was seeded at the top of the division ahead of everybody. But this means nothing to the boys and will take the number one with courage. According to player on the team, Sammuel Pesko the team is feeling as confident as ever, focused as ever and ready as ever, there is only a once acceptable outcome for them, a win crowning them as State Champions.
