Benefits of Hot Yoga During Winter
Recently, my friends and I embarked on a new adventure: hot yoga. While difficult, the process has been extremely rewarding in increasing our health and happiness. As temperatures drop, it’s more important than ever to set aside time to better your body and mental health, and hot yoga is perfect for that.
Yoga is beneficial since it improves flexibility, strength, balance, sleep, while enhancing your mood and reducing your stress. Yoga is considered a holistic practice since it helps not only the physical body, but also the mind. Hot yoga specifically is even more effective, since it burns calories, enhances lung capacity, and the hot temperature helps muscles stretch more.
Especially during the winter, it’s hard to set time aside for intense exercise. But hot yoga is completely worth it, since it’s great for people to come together and practice mindfulness. I believe it’s the best way to kick the winter blues and get in shape.
A great New Year’s resolution could be to set time aside to practice hot yoga, or regular yoga, a couple times a week. Your mind and body will thank you.
