Are you feeling stressed?

This is an extremely common feeling for many people, so common that millions of people in the United States report feeling stressed daily. There are multiple reasons why one may feel stress. School, work, and financial or family issues are all part of everyday life that could heighten one's stress levels.

Here are 3 simple ways to help relieve stress:

  1. Exercise Regularly:

Many studies have shown that engaging in physical activities can help reduce stress levels as well as improve your mood. It also proved that inactive behavior can lead to increased stress, poor mood, and sleep disturbance. By simply going for a walk more frequently, you can help lower your stress levels.

  1. Minimize screen time:

This may seem impossible since phones and computers are an unavoidable part of everyday life. However, many studies have linked excessive screen time to increased levels of stress. Along with this, spending too much time in front of the screen can also lower one's mental wellbeing. Screen time can negatively affect sleep which, in return, can lead to higher stress levels.

  1. Spend more time with friends or family:

Support from friends and family may help get you through stressful times. Friends and family prevent loneliness and isolation and give you a chance to express your feelings. They can also increase your sense of belonging and purpose and boost your happiness. Being with friends or family may help clear your mind of the stressful things that may be in your life.

Although stress is an inevitable part of life, being constantly stressed can take a toll on both your physical and mental well being. However, a little bit of stress is sometimes a good thing. Stress can help you meet your daily challenges as well as motivate you to reach your goals.
