A Robotics Adventure in West palm Beach, Florida
The Norwell High School’s Robotics team flew to West Palm Beach on March 1st to play in the South Florida Regional competition. The team did fine placing 21st out of 34 teams participating from all over including Panama and Colombia. The team went 5-7 while scoring 14 autonomous points, 18 charge station points, and 48 regular match points. They were named the first string backup in the playoff tournament after not being picked in the Alliance Selection. Even though they didn’t play in the tournament, they tried their best and had lots of fun down in Florida. Last weekend, Team 348 participated in their second game of the 2023 Charged Up season in Reading, MA for the NE North Shore event. The team did ok placing 28th out of 40 teams all coming from the New England area. Norwell Robotics went 5-7 again while scoring 18 autonomous points, 26 charge station points, and 65 regular points. The team did not make the tournament nor did they get selected to be a backup. There were many ups and downs, but it was a good experience overall. Team 348 heads to Worcester Polytechnic Institute next weekend to play in the NE District WPI event where they hope to win and qualify for the District Championship in Springfield.
