Robotics’ “FIRST Competition”
Norwell Robotics Team 348 had a very successful completion in Northern Connecticut. On Friday February 28, the team arrived at the hotel in Sturbridge, Massachusetts on the border of Connecticut. The drive team and some of the build team went to the venue to work on the robot while the rest of the team supported them. On the first day of competition, the whole team got to the venue around 8 am. The Norwell Robotics Team robot did very well, but with some bad luck ended up going 1-5 in competition putting us ranked 35 out of 38.
Most of the team went back to the hotel around
4:30-5 but the drive team stayed late competing until around 8pm. The team then went for a feast at Cracker Barrel. On the final day the robot did amazing! We went 3-1 jumping up in the rankings to 28. Although we missed out on the playoffs, the trip was a success. We made some changes to our robot which will help in our next competition. The younger guys learned what a competition is like and the older guys are teaching the younger kids how to work on the robot.
