Mr. Britton Welcome Interview
Q: How is your transition to the high school going?
A: It has gone well, it was a big change with schedules, once got used to it (drop classes, long block) it became much easier; good knowing half of the students from the middle school and many teachers.
Q: Why did you take the position?
A: I have always been interested in physics, studied geophysics in graduate school. I am interested in reading about physics and was interested in this job years ago but wasn’t ready to leave middle school then, but a good opportunity now, even though I am still nervous about change.
Q: Favorite thing so far about the high school?
A: Everyone has been so helpful/friendly. I feel like a freshmen, but students and staff have been great and supportive.
Q: Favorite thing about physics?
A: When students get into solving problems and wanting to solve the problem.
Q: What’s different about the high school compared to the middle school?
A: The schedule, overall culture, maturity level of students.
Q: Favorite part of teaching in general?
A: When students struggle with a concept but then have an ah-ha moment!
Q: What do you miss most about middle school?
A: Teachers and staff, who were great.
