Guess That Teacher
How do you incorporate your values as a teacher into coaching, vice versa? I don’t have any values. But no, really, I think it’s the same thing. Preparation, trying to get kids to understand what you’re trying to get across. Try to make it fun, but same time demanding, try to find that balance. Overall, you want to make it a good experience. Where did you go to high school? Describe your high school self in three words.
Not the hardest working student, but especially when I was younger more laid back, I wanted to have fun instead of seeing the entire picture. Very into sports, I got along with everyone, and was easygoing. Best advice you can give to student athletes.
Enjoy the moment, high school only happens once. Try to make most of it, embrace whatever role you have on a team or any activity, and work hard. It goes by so fast so you don’t want any regrets. What motivates you to come here every day after teaching for so many years?
I love my job, I do. There’s a lot of great things about Norwell, from the people you work with, but more importantly, the kids. Teaching and coaching keeps you young and enthusiastic, I like to think. It’s never the same thing every day, where your punching out numbers behind a desk. It’s never the same day. But the biggest thing is I love my job.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be? Pizza. No brainer. Combo of pepperoni and bacon. So I wouldn't be lasting too many more years, hate to say it.
