Book Club Review

The Norwell High School’s first book was Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan. Book Club gave this book 4.5 stars out of five. The book followers young bachelor Nicholas Young, heir to a tremendous fortune in Singapore. Ready to take the next step with girlfriend Rachel Chu, he decides to introduce her to his unbelievably grand—and outrageously critical— family. Although at times, the many characters in Nick’s immediate and extended family where numerous and hard to keep track of, perhaps simulating how overwhelmed and out of place Rachel would have felt.

The second book ventured into by Book Club was Love and Gelato, by Jenna Evans Welch. The story follows teenage Lina as she travels to Tuscany to fulfill her mother’s final wish before she passed away. Despite the tragedy that forced her to travel, Lina will discover happiness as she uncovers more about her mother, herself, and the beautiful country they both love. Filled with rich descriptions of the Italian cities and countrysides, this romcom-in-a-book will have you saying sì to adventure and copious amounts of frozen perfection!
