Thanksgiving Spirit
As the Norwell Clippers football team ends their successful season, the Thanksgiving matchup is the last chance for the 2017 Clippers to play together in this regular season. The season has been very successful as the team won the South Shore League and qualified for playoffs, clenching the number one seed in Division Six South. The team will put up a fight at playoffs because of their “knowledge and understanding of our offensive scheme, offensive execution, physicality, and communication” says Mr. Bradshaw, the assistant coach and junior varsity coach. Also the team has a strong “will, desire, and effort” Bradshaw adds.
Leading up to the Thanksgiving game, it “has been a great season, and we aim to compete hard in every play and win” says the quarterback Cal Smith. In the interview, Cal said the best thing for the team to do in order to win the Thanksgiving game is “to continue to use key players and work hard every second of the game.” The team is looking forward to the Thanksgiving game and thanking the seniors for a great year.
This season has brought great success to the football team and has brought the Clipper Community together. The team is looking forward to taking on Hanover on Thursday to end the season on a high point. Bradshaw says the ‘team has grown and improved so much during the season, and we accomplished some things that haven’t happened here in Norwell in a long time.”
