Lexi's Monthly Musical Review: January

Hello readers and Happy New Year! This month I will be reviewing the only Broadway musical about Broadway producers, The Producers! So, without further ado, find your seats and enjoy the show!

Background: The Producers! was first performed in 2001 at the St. James Theater and closed in 2007. A US tour of the play began in 2005 while it was still on Broadway, as well as a West End production from 2004-2007, and

a West End tour from 2007-2008.

Plot: Max Bialystock is a Broadway producer who is infamous for putting on flops. After his mousy accountant Leopold Bloom tells Max that a flop can make more money than a hit under the right circumstances, the two start a scheme to produce the biggest flop in history.

Songs:

Review: Celebrating the best of ‘The Great White Way’, this musical shows the process of getting a musical up and running. This show is very easily one of my favorites and I would love to see this show back on Broadway!
