Killer Clowns In Norwell?

Rumors of killer clowns spread throughout the country and recently reached Norwell. This social media trend seems to be making everyone scared this October. Instead of barricading your doors and preparing for the clowns to attack, shouldn’t you be asking if this killer clown trend is real or just fear mongering?

Norwell Public Schools Resource Officer Rick Phelps thought that this was people trying to spread the gag. He said “Although there has been clown sightings in different areas of the country, there has been no confirmed sightings in Norwell or the surrounding towns. I believe this is just another social media ploy to alarm people and the last thing we want is the educational process disrupted. I'm urging all students to ignore rumors on social media and not take part in this in any way.”

The Hanover Police Department agreed. The Hanover Police Department twitter account recently tweeted “Today the Hanover PD responded to several calls @ local schools for clown sightings. All of these calls were unfounded w/ nobody located. These calls appear to stem from several social media sites that pertain to "clown sightings" where people post anonymous reports…” “of clowns being seen.”

So this “killer clowns in Norwell” trend is nothing more than a trend. But I am sure plenty of people will dress up as clowns to scare their friends and neighbors in the next few weeks. Although there are no confirmed sightings, the Navigator did get this “exclusive” video.
