Ships & Giggles: Rent-a-Senior Day!

Ever wanted to tell a senior what to do? Of course you have. Haven’t we been looking forward to June and their exit for months? From screaming at you as you walk into the gym during spirit week to carrying around screaming, robotic babies to torture underclassmen, I think we are all done. Well now you can tell them what to do...or you could have.

Last week, NHS students bid on their favorite seniors for a chance to finally take control. Those who were now in charge did very well. There were plenty of great costumes and songs being played. A few standouts include Chris Anderson wearing a beautiful belly dancing costume and Jimmy DeNeil attempting to twerk in the lunchroom. I can only imagine what Chris’ parents must have thought when he came home that day, and I’m really surprised by Jimmy’s lack of twerking skills. For some reason, I pictured him being a natural. My personal favorite was Cam Ostrom in his dino costume, mostly because the beautiful and elegant song, Darude - Sandstorm, was being played in between classes. Never underestimate the power of a good playlist as you walk from class to class, and Darude - Sandstorm is the only song in my playlist.

After a day full of annoyed and semi-horrified staff members, Rent-a-Senior Day 2016 has come to a close in a rather fashionable sense with some juniors looking to take part in the fiasco next year. Roll Clips.
