The Norwell Navigator News Clip: Steering NHS News in Your Direction

Want to know how actual contestants feel backstage at Mr. Norwell? Curious to read face to face interviews with Norwell sports team captains? If so, the Norwell Navigator is your new go-to site for all things NHS from events to sports and student life.

The Norwell Navigator has experienced many shifts and changes over the past four years. From different advisors to varied attempts to accommodate new technology, the newspaper has had to evolve in reaching out to its modern audience. Thus, with this “new” Navigator, we hope to make the site more accessible to students and create a format compatible for iPhones and mobile devices. Like “Buzzfeed” and other social media sites, we hope to create a fascinating and engaging “newsfeed” that includes articles similar to “The Onion” or as we call it, “Ships and Giggles” and photography blogs like “Humans of New York” with students attending NHS. Publishing on a rolling basis as student events occur, the Navigator will inform readers about current happenings in the school. Furthermore, as a quarterly review, the Navigator will pick key articles, compiling the writing into a printed, hard copy newspaper for those who prefer to read in print.

Testing these changes early along with the help of feedback from our readers will make the Navigator that much more prepared to publish student articles in the 2016-2017 school year. With the duo of Mr. Bechtel and Ms. Greenberg, we hope to spread the word of our new, updated newspaper as well as create a team of witty, curious, analytical, and opinionated writers who would be willing to spend time in steering student news at NHS.
