The Joy of Math

Do you learn to count in binary in algebra? Hexadecimals? Do you want to learn to use matrices to solve systems of equations in mere seconds? Because that is what we do in the Math Team! Conventional school mathematics are the bases for what we do and build on, but we go beyond to explore topics that bring joy and curiosity to those minds unable to be satisfied with the drawl of simple mechanical computations.

We learn to combine logic, critical thinking, and already learned mathematical concepts to understand how to discover a solution to problems you will never see in a math class. But that does not mean that the problems are hard. Instead, they are fascinating, unusual. They force you to think outside the box, or they make you realize that there is no box and that everything you have learned before has just been a single side to a bigger picture.

Don’t mistake us. We do not teach. We try to inspire. We have fun. Because that is what math is. Just like music and games, we play when we walk into the club and discuss different ways of approaching a puzzle or enigma. But most importantly, we support each other, and we want others to enjoy math too!
