The Clipper Leadership Academy is a program started a few years ago by Norwell’s administration. Although it was tentative at first, this program has blossomed into an interactive and educational extracurricular that truly teaches students how to be positive leaders and role models in their community.

The most recent meeting was about cultivating commitment and responsibility. Using the examples of their peers, students identified what commitment looks like to them and were guided to see leader-provided examples as well. At the conclusion of the meeting, it is certain that students left with more knowledge about how they can show commitment through their various extracurricular activities.

CLA has truly proven to be a useful tool for Norwell as it trains team captains and club presidents to be effective and compassionate leaders. This year, meetings are mainly student-run, allowing participants to be genuine and helpful to their peers. There is a bright future for CLA ahead!
